Inspiring Curiosity Daily

The Primary classroom is where the Montessori method truly comes alive. In our mixed-age community of three- to five-year-olds, children learn from one another as naturally as they learn from their guides. Younger children observe and aspire, while older children consolidate their knowledge through mentorship and leadership.

Certified Montessori guides carefully observe each child and prepare individualized learning paths using beautifully crafted Montessori materials. The uninterrupted three-hour work cycle allows children to reach deep concentration โ€” a state Dr. Montessori called "normalization" โ€” where true learning and personal growth occur.

Mixed-Age Community

Our three-year age grouping mirrors the family structure. Younger children are inspired by older peers, while older children deepen their understanding by teaching โ€” building empathy, patience, and leadership along the way.

Uninterrupted Work Cycle

A cornerstone of authentic Montessori education, the three-hour uninterrupted work period allows children to choose their work, sustain deep concentration, and experience the satisfaction of completing meaningful tasks.

Montessori Materials

From the Pink Tower to the Moveable Alphabet, our classroom is equipped with a full complement of Montessori materials โ€” each one scientifically designed to isolate a concept and invite hands-on, self-correcting exploration.

Prepared Environment

Every detail of the classroom โ€” from the arrangement of shelves to the quality of natural light โ€” is intentionally designed to promote order, beauty, independence, and purposeful activity.

Our Curriculum

The Montessori Primary curriculum spans five interconnected areas of study, each building upon the others to provide a holistic educational experience.

Practical Life

Activities such as pouring, sweeping, buttoning, and food preparation develop fine motor control, concentration, independence, and a sense of order. These purposeful exercises connect children to their everyday world and build the foundation for all subsequent learning.

Sensorial

Through carefully designed materials that isolate qualities such as size, weight, color, shape, texture, and sound, children refine their senses and develop the ability to observe, compare, classify, and reason โ€” essential skills for mathematical and scientific thinking.

Language

Our language curriculum follows the child's natural progression from spoken language to writing and then reading. Using sandpaper letters, the Moveable Alphabet, and a rich library, children develop phonemic awareness, handwriting, reading comprehension, and a love of literature.

Mathematics

Montessori math materials make abstract concepts concrete. From the Golden Beads to the Stamp Game, children explore number recognition, the decimal system, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division โ€” building a deep and lasting understanding of mathematical principles.

Cultural Studies

Geography, history, biology, botany, zoology, art, and music come together in our cultural curriculum. Children explore the world through puzzle maps, timeline work, nature studies, and creative expression โ€” developing a broad perspective and appreciation for the diversity of life.
